Public realm
Concept studyBagmati corridor public realm
A study of the Bagmati bank as public ground, with a raised boardwalk lifted clear of the flood line.
A concept study by the studio, not a commissioned or completed civic work.
The corridor is currently a back: roads face away from it and the bank is residual ground. The study treats its length as one landscape, and the move is in the section — a boardwalk carried on steel legs above the lawn, so the walk stays usable when the ground below it is wet and the park underneath is left continuous rather than cut into paths.
Where the deck widens it becomes a place to stop: circular seats built around existing trees, a small shaded pavilion, and a lower terrace stepping towards the water.

A study, not a completed building. It is published because the thinking is ours.
